The Senator Leonard K. Bullfinch Newsletter #13

Abortion

My fellow Americans:

One of the most divisive issues facing the American public is that of abortion. I have always been opposed to abortion being used solely for birth control, but I’ve been troubled by the problems that unwanted pregnancies can create, such as when a mother’s life is in danger, or if she has been raped. Even so, ultimately there was only one solution that I could find. We simply make all abortions illegal.

Truly, the only reason now we should have for abortions at all is if a woman’s life is in danger. For instance, why should we kill a child simply because of an illegal act by his father? But even taking the baby’s life to save the mother makes no sense. After all, what kind of mother is it that is not willing to die for her children? And if she does die, there are plenty more women to take her place. People are not in short supply. However, good soldiers are. My plan will solve that problem as well.

I propose creating government-run maternity centers. Any woman who becomes pregnant and does not want that child, or should not be allowed to have that child, will be sent to these centers where she will be treated with kindness and compassion. When the child is born, the woman is free to go. Free to reproduce again if she likes.

The children, then, will be raised by the government. They will receive nutritious meals, warm clothing, and the finest military education in the world. Then, when they reach maturity, say, 15, the majority of them will be sent to active duty. Those who show more aptitude will be sent on to leadership training academies.

It is estimated that 1.6 million babies are aborted every year in the United States alone. In 15 years America could have a standing Army of 1.6 million soldiers. A standing Army that would be replenished and added to every year.

And the beauty is, there will be no grieving parents should one of these brave young men or women fall in combat, or anywhere else for that matter. After all, they lived longer than if they would have been aborted. And undoubtedly the majority of them would not die in combat.

With a standing Army in the millions, the United States would no longer need to worry about security. We could adequately guard our borders, our infrastructures, our city streets and residential housing, and keep tabs on those citizens who might now, or at a future date, pose a security risk to our country. We could easily occupy any country that posed a threat on our way of life, and we would never have to worry about spreading our troops too thinly.

And, for those bleeding heart liberals who are not willing to accept the responsibility of defending this great country of ours, there would never again be another draft.

Truly, the solution is in our hands. Our country will be a safer place, and unborn babies will no longer have to die. We’ll wait until they’re teenagers.

Thank you for your continued support,

The Honorable Senator Leonard K. Bullfinch
